Membership and Representation

All students living in the 42 residence halls of Ohio University are invited and welcome to join the Residents’ Action Council. Additionally, every residential building or complex, totaling 28, designates a representative that serves as the liaison between tRAC and the individual hall/complex council. These representatives are among the students that attend the weekly general body meetings. tRAC also works closely with Ohio University’s NRHH chapter.

Outreach

The Residents’ Action Council strives to unite the students in the residence halls by giving them an active voice and improving relations with the Ohio University administration. tRAC provides and supports social, cultural, recreational and educational programming for on-campus students.

Annual Elections

Each spring, the Residents’ Action Council elects eight executive officers to lead the group for the following academic year. These positions comprise the Executive Board of tRAC: President, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Vice President for Finance & CFO, Vice President for Programming, Vice President for Marketing & Public Relations, Vice President for Student Services, Diversity Chair and National Communications Coordinator.

History

The Residents’ Action Council, or tRAC, is Ohio University’s residence hall association and was founded in 1994 under the direction of Dr. James Sand. Prior to this time, each of the university’s three residential greens had its own green council.
